At Cross Church, we are passionate about helping the youngest children discover the love of Jesus in a safe, joyful, and nurturing environment. As the Preschool Coordinator, you will oversee all areas of Cross Kids from newborns through Pre-K, building environments where little ones experience God’s love and parents feel supported and connected.

This role is ideal for a relational, highly organized leader who loves early childhood ministry and enjoys equipping volunteers to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development
  • Recruit, train, and equip volunteers for Nursery, Toddlers, and Pre-K classrooms.
  • Build a positive, unified team culture marked by joy, safety, and excellence.
  • Provide encouragement, coaching, and care for volunteer teams.
  • Develop and support junior volunteers serving in preschool rooms.

Ministry Oversight

  • Oversee weekend preschool environments—ensuring classrooms are safe, fun, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate.
  • Schedule volunteers and classroom leads for all preschool areas.
  • Implement and maintain age-appropriate curriculum and discipleship tools for newborn–PreK.
  • Support early childhood spiritual milestones (Baby Dedication, foundational faith rhythms, etc.).

Engagement & Growth

  • Champion a culture of joy, creativity, worship, and spiritual curiosity among preschoolers.
  • Assist in planning and executing preschool-focused events (family play dates, preschool family nights, parent resource moments, Baby Dedications etc.).

Spiritual Atmosphere

  • Cultivate loving, Spirit-filled environments where children experience God through play, music, and hands-on learning.
  • Ensure preschool volunteers embody the heart and values of Cross Church.
  • Support the Kids Chapel team with relevant preschool components when necessary.

Cross Church Leadership

  • Attend Kids Ministry meetings and staff training as required.
  • Collaborate with the larger Cross Kids team during all-church events.
  • Uphold Cross Church’s culture of integrity, unity, and biblical conflict resolution.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children ages 0–5 (ministry or early education preferred)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to use/learn Planning Center Church Software, and Google Office.
  • Ability to create, organize and maintain crafts and weekly supplies for engaging ministry.

PART-TIME POSITION:

Preschool Coordinator (Newborn–PreK) min 12-15 hrs a week (Sun-Thurs) Sundays are considered a 6 hour workday/remaining hours for job completion are during office hours M-Th between 9-5.

The Elementary Coordinator helps shape a dynamic, Christ-centered experience for kids in Kindergarten through 4th grade. You will lead teams, oversee weekend environments, and create opportunities for kids to grow in worship, friendship, and biblical understanding.

This role is perfect for a creative, energetic leader who loves discipling kids and empowering volunteers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development
  • Recruit, train, and empower volunteers serving in K–4th grade classrooms.
  • Build a unified culture where volunteers feel valued and equipped.
  • Provide consistent coaching, communication, and leadership development to team leads and junior volunteers.

Ministry Oversight

  • Oversee weekend elementary environments—ensuring safety, engagement, excellence, and relational connection.
  • Schedule and support classroom leads, small group leaders, and check-in volunteers.
  • Implement age-appropriate curriculum, small group guides, and discipleship strategies for elementary kids.
  • Support and implement key spiritual milestones such as Starting Line, Baptism, and other faith next steps.

Engagement & Growth

  • Champion a culture of fun, creativity, worship, and spiritual hunger where kids want to bring their friends.
  • Plan or support events such as Kids Camp, Kids Worship Team practices, outreach events, and seasonal experiences.

Spiritual Atmosphere

  • Create environments where elementary kids encounter God, understand biblical truth, and grow in community.
  • Lead and develop aspects of the Kids Chapel team (training resources, videos, worship moments, with ability to oversee full production teams).
  • Ensure all volunteers model the mission, vision, and values of Cross Church.

Cross Church Leadership

  • Participate in Kids Ministry meetings and staff training as required.
  • Collaborate with the Next Gen team to support church-wide events and cross-department initiatives.
  • Maintain the heart and DNA of Cross Church—integrity, unity, and Matthew 18 relational health.

Qualifications

  • Previous practical experience in leading children’s ministry or elementary-age educational settings.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skills including becoming knowledgeable in the use of Planning Center, and Google Office.
  • Ability to learn/create environments for kids through a mix of specialized church presentation software, general-purpose AV (lighting, sound, video).

PART-TIME POSITION:

Elementary Coordinator (K–4th Grade) min 25-30 hrs a week (Sun-Thurs) Sundays are considered a 6 hour workday/remaining hours for job completion are during office hours M-Th between 9-5 with many all play Tuesday mornings for prayer and all staff bi-monthly meetings.

The Campus Care Associate supports the overall care, cleanliness, maintenance, and readiness of the church property. This role helps ensure the building and grounds are safe, functional, clean, and welcoming for all ministries, events, and visitors.

In addition to coordinating basic maintenance needs, the Campus Care Associate performs light cleaning and trash removal between scheduled custodial services to keep high-traffic areas fresh and presentable throughout the week. This position reports to the Facilities Director and assists with routine upkeep, inspections, event setup, and vendor coordination, while maintaining strong communication with staff, contractors, and ministry teams.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Inspections

  • Perform routine maintenance and small repairs (e.g., plumbing, lighting, painting).
  • Conduct regular walk-throughs to identify and address facility needs.
  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating periodic inspections for safety, fire, and code compliance.
  • Maintain a basic preventive maintenance checklist and related records as directed.

Light Custodial & Cleaning Support

  • Perform light cleaning in key areas between custodial services, including:
    • Wiping down counters, tables, and frequently touched surfaces.
    • Spot-sweeping and vacuuming high-traffic areas as needed.
    • Straightening chairs, resetting rooms, and maintaining a tidy appearance.
  • Empty, consolidate, and replace trash and recycling in offices, lobbies, restrooms, and common areas to keep spaces neat and odor-free.
  • Perform restroom touch-ups between custodial cleans (restocking supplies, basic wipe downs, checking for spills or issues).
  • Monitor entrances, lobbies, and hallways to ensure they are clean, welcoming, and free of clutter or hazards.
  • Communicate with the custodial team and Facilities Director about any areas needing deeper or specialized cleaning.

Contractor & Vendor Coordination

  • Assist the Facilities Director with scheduling and supervising outside contractors for specialized maintenance and repair work.
  • Help ensure contractors complete work to agreed standards and within budget.
  • Coordinate access and basic facility readiness for contractors and service providers.

Facility Upkeep & Safety

  • Oversee the daily readiness of facilities, including appearance, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Monitor and address potential hazards promptly (e.g., spills, trip hazards, blocked exits).
  • Assist in seasonal upkeep such as landscaping coordination, snow/ice response, or weather-related preparations as directed.

Event Support

  • Set up and reset rooms for church services, meetings, and events according to layouts provided.
  • Ensure spaces are clean, organized, and functional before and after events, including trash removal and light cleaning as needed.
  • Collaborate with ministry leaders to support special events and large gatherings.

Inventory & Supply Management

  • Maintain inventory of janitorial, cleaning, and toiletry supplies, restocking as needed.
  • Monitor usage and condition of cleaning tools (e.g., vacuums, mops) and report any repair or replacement needs.
  • Track and report supply usage to the Facilities Director for budgeting purposes.

Storage & Deliveries

  • Assist with items being delivered to and from the church’s storage unit.
  • Organize storage spaces for efficiency, accessibility, and cleanliness.

General Duties

  • Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain positive, service-oriented relationships with staff, ministry leaders, volunteers, and contractors.
  • Report facility needs, repair issues, cleaning concerns, and project updates to the Facilities Director promptly.

Qualifications

  • Experience in facility maintenance, repairs, custodial work, or facility support.
  • Basic skills in general handyman work (e.g., minor repairs, simple troubleshooting).
  • Familiarity with basic cleaning practices and safe use of cleaning products.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and problem-solve.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed (bending, lifting, climbing ladders, etc.).

PART-TIME, CONTRACT POSITION:

Campus Facilities Associate approximately 12-15 hrs a week. Flexible schedule with evenings or weekends as needed for events.
